May 6, 2007

Hello Debby, I go into my website every morning to see what is new in MK, and then to yours about once a week.  I don't go to meetings anymore unless I find someone who wants to be a consultant, but I get orders  also on the website and like you I got an order.  Remember Roadie has free roam in the house, no crate.  I usually just pick him up and put him out there and then he just stands in one spot and looks at me.  I bring him in put down paper or try again later.  I don't see fleas as yet.  I just finished brushing him and combing him this morning.  He has taken over the couch so that is where I do this , I keep a old flannel blanket on the couch and when I am expecting someone I take it off.   He has finally made it into the bed when I am looking at TV, but only now and then.  He can jump off, but he can't get in so I lift him in and he gives a sigh and stretches out.  I understand you are very busy, so I am glad to hear from you.

Alma

Hi Debby, Roadie went through the night very well. except he started to bark around 2:45 a.m.     got up and went down and talk to  him a little then came back up and went to bed.  I didn't hear him anymore.   He did his potty in the kitchen (smile).   Did not use the paper.   He has gone outside twice.   I think tonight I will not feed  him and put paper all over the kitchen floor.   I had paper in the dining room, but to no avail.   My daughter  saw him today.  She thought he was cute and very gentle.  She asked if he barked.   Jayblock barked when every anybody was talking, you couldn't shut him up.  She commented about how big his eyes were and his perfect teeth. Jayblock's was not even.

He stays with me wherever I go, won't go up the steps yet.   What do you suggest with the little bit of potty on the tail.  I don't  want to get him groomed again yet.  I have to go look for a crate tomorrow and some more treats,  I bought a bag but I think I  hid them from myself (smile).

As far as the AKC registration how do I change  ownership or do I wait?  I enjoyed looking at all of his  ribbons.   Where is the chip??

 Alma

Hello Debby, I think God was working with us on Roadie.   We got him out just in time.    I mailed the crate back to you today, but I forgot to put the padding back in it.  I had put it in the wicker bed that I had for Jayblock,    I am seeing that he gets in it during the night because every thing is all tossed the way he wants it.  If you want it back I will mail it under separate cover.

I am thinking maybe I will not get a crate, because he will get in the bed after he finishes his  barking and decided I am not coming down.   When I went to the post office today, I could hear him  barking as I got into the car.  I have decorated gates from my hallway into my dining room which I can lock is really now my laundry and catchall room with tile on the floor there and in the kitchen.   I  did not put the paper down last night because he did his potty outside yesterday.

Took him out in the back today without a lead and he did his potty both.   I guess he has designated the kitchen, for his spot.   He went during the night in the kitchen.  How often does he do the big potty, I was thinking he would hold through the night or maybe I didn't get up early enough this morning.  I was up around 7:00 am.    He sticks right with me when I go upstairs he looks up the steps and starts to bark.   I don't know how I can convince him that I will be back (smile)

His stool is getting better, he keeps scratching his ears sometimes, I don't know if it is the collar or not.  It is about a inch wide, maybe I should get one that is 1/2 inch??    Tonight I am going to put paper all over the kitchen floor and try your suggestion.   I had the paper by the bed before and he ignored it (smile).    I have not taken him for a ride in the car as yet.  After he goes out side I take the lead off of him so he has free roam of the first floor,  I watch him  in living room.   When I am sitting looking at television, he lays under my feet or by the side of the chair.    He knows my son, when he comes down from the 3rd floor he comes to attention.

Last night I had to get up to  potty, so was trying to be quiet so he couldn't hear me moving around.
I got back in bed and he started to bark, so I tried to ignore it and I think he barked for about 2 minutes and then he stopped.   I guess he decided she is not coming down,  so he got in the bed and went to sleep (smile)  I also notice he waits for me to get in front of him before he follows me.   I guess that is from his show training.

The reason I am thinking about not getting the crate if I go out, I can just lock the gate and put paper.  The only thing I have to think about is my son, I usually leave it open so he can get to the kitchen,  but most of the time if he is with me I secured my house with alarm  system and lock the diningroom gate and Rhoadie would have access to the kitchen floor.   I sometimes go to Atlantic City  or New York. and my son   would be there with him.   I don't know if crating him for that time period or not???

Oh,  I don't mind if you put anything on your website.   I go into also and read what it going on.
I think there is going to be a  dog show here in Philadelphia, I  heard it mentioned on the TV.

Alma

Great!!!    Roadie is doing fine,  he is not eating too much today, but  very active and alert to any noises, I had the Dog Whisper on and the dogs were barking and  looked at that if he is in his bed sleep and he hears me turn over or stir, he lifts his head then goes back to sleep.  I am checking to see when he is going  to eat  I got him a rolled leather collar he is not  scratching as much.

Alma

Hello Debby, Roadie is fine, but he is not eating like he is hungry.  I am giving him the dry dog food little bite.  He will take a few, put them on the floor and eat maybe one or two and walk away
smile), sometimes he will push the bowl up in the corner.

Do you think I  should mix some can dog food with it.   He will eat the marrow bones as a treat or the jerkies.  By the way the marrow bones you mentioned in a prior conversation are they the marrow bones from the meat department of the marrow bones  from the pet shop that has the marrow filling.

He also won't go out in the  rain or the ground is wet.  I  have to pick him up and put him out there.  He will do what he has to do and then   run back inside.   Still won't go up the steps, will run back intro the living room and bark at me.

What do you mix with the dry food if anything?

Otherwise everything is fine.

Are you sending me an animation of a lhasa running so I can put it in my style box?

Alma

Hi, just to let you know, I mixed some can food with his dry food and he cleaned the bowl.!!!!   (smile)
I also bought a fresh marrow bone from the grocery store, they are so big and they have raw meat on them.  I put it in the freezer.  I don't know if I am going to deal with that.   I might use it for soup or whatever.
Alma

Hello Debbie, I received Roadie's  AKC registration.  Here are some quick pictures.  He will go up the steps if he knows I am standing behind him and I put one foot on the steps and then the other and he is looking to make sure I am there and how far it is to the landing.  He is very smart and alert.

Warmly,

Alma

Hello Debbie, I just sent you and e-mail with pictures, I am new at sending pictures.  I am glad you told me about the marrow bones, that sounds like something I  could deal with (smile)

Alma
Hello Debby,  I want you to know your little tidbits of info is very helpful to me.   Well Guess What!!!!

Roadie is finally mastering the stairs slowly, both up and down.  I have to tell him to come on and he follows me.  Still going through the night in my bedroom with no accidents.  About 4:30 or 5:00 he stirs a little and pulls at the bed for attention and I tell him to go to bed and he quiets down. Barks at any unusual sounds etc.  He lets me know when my son is coming down the steps because he becomes alert.  Since I  have nerve deafness in one ear that is helpful.

I notice he is scratching a little at his feet etc.  Maybe it is because I have hot air heating.  I am looking at him now, and he just took his head and open my office door to go out into the hall. (smile).

is there any kind of shampoo I should tell the groomer to use or should I get my own shampoo for her to use, maybe something if he has dry skin,  I notice his skin does look dry or is that the way it is supposed to look?  We have snow here this morning, but he went out in the yard as usual, I guess he is accustomed to  that.  I will not be walking him until that is gone.

Alma

Hi Debby, Roadie got a bath and brush today at a grooming shop not far from me.   The groomer was not there that does all the cutting or trimming or what ever.  The groomer (male) said he could  tell Roadie was accustom to being groomed and he thought he was very pretty.

They did not use the cage for drying but a hand blower with a long nozzle.  I like that very much.  I will take him back next time when the real groomer is there.  They give a very personal touch.

They did have the oatmeal shampoo and he also put on a moisturizer.

I also mailed your samples today.

Alma

Hello Debby,   did you get the samples I sent to you?  Have you tried them yet?   I will have your Ultimate Mascara when I send your order.  Let me know how you like it.

Roadie is doing fine.  Still scratching at times.  His skin does not look as dry as before.  He sits and looks at me and barks.   I take that to mean he wants to go out or he wants to get up in my lap or he wants something I am eating.   His potty is doing great.  Martin and I are going to the casino on Feb l9th, so he will be by himself from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.    I am going to paper the whole floor.

He goes to the potty quite frequently during the day I notice.  When I put him out in the yard he does everthing.   Have not walked him much because it is too cold right now.

Warmly,

Alma

 Great Debby, I  knew you
would like it.  You will also get a gift.  You can send the check when ever it is feasible for you.   I feel  like I know you since we have done extensive dog business. smile)   As soon as it is ready, I will mail it to you with a stamped self-address envelope and the bill   don't worry about shipping.  What you can do for me is get me other customers in your area by just telling them how great your skin feels and about Mary Kay products. (smile)  What is your   telephone # so I can input it on my computer?

Hello Debby !!

I have been in FFT web page for a half-hour reading about Zeke and listening to the music.

I know that is Roadie by his white whiskers.  I finally found out how to get his picture on my messages (smile).  He is laying here beside me now.  I think I spelled the puppy's name wrong, but he is showing the same traits that Roadie has now.   He wakes me up at 6:30, like his food with some type of gravy or moisture.

I have not walked him lately because of the cold weather, but he goes outside and does what he does one after the other and runs back inside the shed.  If he just wets, I wave my hand and say go back and finish and he goes back up in my side alley and finishes and then runs back into the shed kitchen.

Last night he rearranged his bed and it was funny watching him.  I had a fleece mat on top of your pad that you sent.  He moved it and pushed it in such a way that he was laying on your mat with the fleece on top of him like a hooded blanket and then he laid down and went to sleep.

He keeps licking and cleaning his feet.  Maybe his is bored sine we have not been out because of the cold.  But he follows me up and down the steps enough times to get plenty of exercise.  He is my shadow.(smile)   He even goes up to the third floor to my son's room. when I go up there.

I am thinking he needs another grooming ????     How often should he be groomed.  It was a near the middle of January when I took him to the groomer.?

Warmly,

Alma

Great Debby!!!
Remember use the Microbrasion no more than once a week.  It will be too much if you use it more I  think.   Use the sample of the skin care morning and night and the  Day solution and night solution everyday and night.  When you use all of the skin care (time-wise night solution, etc. I know you will want to order the regular size.

Roadie is doing fine, he doesn't like to go out when it is raining or the ground looks wet.  The next time I have him groomed I am going to take some pictures of him and send to you from the groomer.

It is do comical to see him rearrange is sleeping bed.  Sometimes he takes his nose and feet and pushes everything out except the pillow.   If I just move or make any movement at night he lifts his head to see what I am doing and then goes back to sleep.  When I look him eye to eye he barks at me.  In the morning around 6:30 he wakes me up with a growl or a whine.  He is very smart, he knows the doorbell, the telephone, any noise.  He is a substitute
for my nerve deafness in the other ear (smile)  I am trying to comb him everyday so that he will not matte  I don't want to cut his hair.  I don't know if it will be too hot in the summer.

I went into the computer to  that particular song, but to no avail   I went into Amazon, I found work by Shanti, but it was very expensive.  I didn't know if it was a CD or not .

Well this is all for now.   Enjoy your book and Mary Kay.  Also tell Mike I  have him in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Alma

Hello Debby,
I saw Roadie  in your settling in section in your web page.   He is doing fine, he gets up on the chair now and looks out of the window.  He really cleans out the marrow bones.  He also watches everything I do.   He knows that if  I get up in the middle of the night, he doesn't get out of his bed, because he knows I am only going to the  bathroom. and he lays there until I come back into the  bedroom.   Any other time  he would get up and follow me.  If he wants something he will look at me and start barking or give a low  growl, he even pulls at my  clothes to make me get up.   He is very smart.

Good Morning Debby,

I received the CD yesterday, the only problem is all I hear is static.   I  have a bose radio with the CD included.  I even tried it in my DVD just to see and it told me cannot play.

Maybe it did not burn??   I don't know too much about that.   I will refund you any expense for mailing etc.  Let me know what you think might be wrong??

Roadie is doing well, it is raining here this morning, he did not want to go outside.  I had to pick him up and put him out there, since I am the pack leader (smile).  I also ordered the identity labels for him and  the Family Gazette.  He is laying her beside me at the computer sleep.

Alma

Hello Debby  just to touch base with you.  I had Roadie groomed today, he looks so cute.  She cut the hair down a little on the top of his heads but he still has the part.   He is getting spoiled.  Won't go out when the ground is wet.  He looks out and before I can pick him up to put him out there he turns around and runs back the other way.   He finally made  it up on the bed with a little help from me.  I find he wakes me up around 6:30 and if I pick him up and put him on the  bed, lays down with a little sigh and goes back to sleep until about 7:00 and I put him on the floor.  My bed is high  so I won't let him try to jump off.

That is what happened when I had one of my Afghans.  He jumped off the bed and broke a leg.  It is scary about the dog food, I got the list off the computer and checked what I had out.  Also a got a book from Doctors, I guess from AKC.  They have every thing for dogs, bed, food etc.  But  expensive.  The next time I have him groomed I will try to take some pictures to send to you.

How is your skin doing since you are trying the skin care I sent you.  Do you see any difference?

Alma

Thanks Debby, they are so cute.  Roadie is fine.  He was licking this one hind foot.  I took him back to the groomer because there was a wad of hair under the pad.   She was telling me I could wipe his feet with some baby oil.  I told her I would probably use Mary Kay on  a  cloth when I would do that.  Some one stopped me on the street to ask what kind of dog he was.  They thought he was a Maltese.  I am not familiar with the look of a Maltese.

Thanks again for the animation.  It will be on some of my outgoing mail .

Warmly,

Alma

Hi Debby, glad to hear from you.  I check the website every so often to see what is new.  I took pictures of him at the groomers.  I think I am going to use all the exposure on him I think. He is so pretty, I am going to get a tee-shirt with the Lhasa on it (smile).  I am glad I don't have to cut his hair for the  summer.  I noticed after he was groomed his little  testicles  were kind of pink, I will mention that to her when he goes for his next grooming. Maybe the water or the dryer was too hot.  He was licking there so I put a little vaseline on it.

Also what is good for him in case of fleas for the summer also for flyaway hair when I brush him.?
Good Morning Debby,  what was the name of the dog food you said you feed your dogs.   I think I saw it mentioned in the one of the magazines I have regarding good dog foods and bad dog food.   I am taking pictures of Roadie  using all the film on him this time whenever I catch something funny..  Giving him a little olive oil in his food but he is still  catching.  (smile)

Hello Debby, I enjoyed the article about the 10 reasons why you may not want an Apso by Ken.  How is he doing after the stroke?  I had Roadie groomed yesterday.  He is beginning to have more white in his coat around his feet and the back of his neck.  His scratching is about the same, not a lot,
maybe it is just his doggie habit.  I am giving him the California natural.  Got him 2 heavy feeding bowels. He pushes the latter ones in a hiding place when he leaves some, where I can't find it.  One time they were all the way under the dining room table. (smile)
I am picking up the picture today (27) if they are all good.

Debby, for the last 3 days Roadie has been vomiting at least once  I  think he is hungry (smile).  Any suggestions as to what is causing this?      It is also 94 degrees yesterday, the same is expected for today. He is not panting too much, he lays in front of the fan, downstairs, up in  the the bedroom  I have  the air conditioner.
He is not eating the  California
natural unless  I put something on it.  I am going to get some of the can dog food today.
 Yellow Foam.

Hi Debby, I received your check today.   Thank you.  Roadie is doing fine, since it has been so hot, I have not taken him out to walk.  So he has been very mischievous.   Pulled out a whole box of Kleenex I had by my bed while I was asleep into little pieces.  goes into the trash basket in my bed room.  Started to chew on the pillows on my couch and also his favorite catch toy.  He usually just plays with it, but he actually chewed a hole in the end.

I am going to Atlantic City on Monday so before I go I am going to give him raw bone from the freezer.  That wll keep him busy until we return.  Still very clean with his potty, goes to the backdoor and stands when I say out.  Does what he has to do and hops back inside.  He has a special bark when the door is shut and he can't come in.

All for now.

Warmly,

Alma
Hello Debby,  I received your order.  I had not checked out the samples in the book, just did today.  I really like the bamboo, not so much the red tea.  I am ordering for myself and another customer who wants a set also.   I am ordering the spritz in case down the line you want one.

I go into the whats's new blog almost everyday.  I like your pictures of your hauling the wood and also the shawls.   Roadie said hello with a sharp bark (smile).  I will send you an e-mail of your order once I put it in the computer.

Have a great day!!!!Alma
Hello Debby,. I mailed your order today.   You will love it.   I used everything myself this morning and I was smelling my arms all day.   I also used the spritz.  Use it with a netted sponge or loofah.  It makes nice suds and afterwards your body is smooth and soft.   I sent you a little gift that you can put on your frig or wherever .  I have one on my frig.

I enjoyed reading the blog abut Panchen.   Roadie is doing fine.  I put some frontline on his back in case of fleas, but I have not seen any.  The groomer saw one dead one???  He barks sometimes if he is scratching.   I think he doesn't know Martin's status (my son).  He nips at his pants legs when he comes into my room or if he coughs, he barks.  Sometimes I think he barks just to be barking (smile).

I went into the blog about the raw foods  and the tripe.  I  think I will stick to the California Natural and maybe give him more or the can food with the dry food since they are carnivorous (smile).

Also I gave Roadie and sparerib bone  and he brought everything up that was in his stomach.  I won't give him that again.  I still give him the marrow bones right from the freezer when I go to Atlantic to keep him occupied.   Also the UPS man did not ask me any more about his interest in a dog.

Hello Debby, I received your check yesterday.   You looked very nice in the picture with Dante.  He is  really beautiful.  Roadie is fine, had him groomed yesterday, his ears are clear, no fleas, gives me a different bark when he wants something and a growl in the morning to wake me up.  He doesn't ask to get in the bed as much, sleeps on the floor beside his   dog bed, nips at my sons pants when he comes into my bedroom and when he leaves.  I guess he is saying I don't want you in here and I'm glad you are gone (smile)

Alma & Roadie

Hi Debby, you are welcome.   I am glad you like it.   I thought I sent you the Embrace Life  magnets that  go on the refrigerator.  Bu t again I am glad you like it.  I just went into your website which I do every morning to see what is new.   I am glad Seth is Roadie's father, they look very much alike.  I have not cut or trimmed his hair yet, all he gets is a bath and brush, not matted at all.  The hair around his neck is very thick when I put his collar    on to   go out.  I mentioned to the groomer, she said  she did not  thin it out because it would   make him look different.

One more thing,  when I had J-Block the groomer would always say she emptied the sack in the back.  What is that,  is that something to be done or because Rhoadie is neutered, that is not necessay.   This  groomer says nothing about that.

Alma

Good Morning Debby,  I don;t know if you received this e-mail or not.  Roadie  is not eating as much, I think his stomach was a little upset yesterday as he brought up the yellow foam, and his  bowels were a little loose.   I saw him also scoot on the floor like he was itching back there.

Alma

Debby, I just heard that AKC will be having there Dog Show at the Convention center here in Philadelphia.  I am going to try to go.  It is in November.  Will anyone one from your area be attending?

Roadie was groomed yesterday.  I have not trimmed his hair.  The groomer loves to groom him.
She doesn't work with the glands so if he had any problem I would take him to the  vet.  I am now thinking if anything would happen to me or I could not care for him, I would want him to be shipped back to you.  I am going to write down the steps for my daughter,  so they would know what they had to do or tell her to call you (smile)

Warmly
 Alma

Also did I send you  the embrace life for the frig, I don't remember a heart box?  Also my g roomer told me that there is another customer that brings in a dog that looks just like Roadie, color, hair etc.  She was a female.  Any one  in this area with one of the lhasas from there?
Debby, I just signed off of your website.  I went into Kath's blog with Zeke, a lot has been added since I was there before.  I see that Sadie is going to be his companion that is my mother's name.   Roadie seens quite content to be a loner in my household.   He no longer wants to sleep in my bed at night.  He gets his bed ready by scratching and turning around and then gets on the floor beside the bed or beside my bed on the floor.   He lets me know when it is  7:00 or 7:30 and it is time  to go out. If I  get up in the middle of the night, he knows I am only going to the bathroom and he doesn't move.  I am glad he is accustomed to grooming, he just lays there and  i can turn him over by his feet    to brush him     while on the floor and he becomes limp. smile)

Today is the last day for the dog show.  They only had 3 Lhasas in the show according to the paper.  don't know if I will make it   today since I am having trouble with my right knee.   I gave Roadie some raw groundmeat this morning when I was making patties to put in the freezer.  He gobbled it up and came looking for more.  I will send you copies of the writeup in the Philadelphia Inquire of the dog show.   It will be televised onChanel 10 here after the Thanksgiving Parade.  I don't know if you can get it there????

I realized that your puppies have to be neutered or sprayed also.  I did not realize that before when I asked if they were going to Mate sadie and zeke.
Alma

Thank you Debby for your pretty seasons greeting card.  I didn't send any cards this year because I am having trouble with my left  shoulder, probably arthirtis.  To add insult to injury i use the heating pad and bengay not together, but the bengay I think was too strong or i put too much and it gave me a rash on my left arm around my neck   and top of my shoulder.  It is improving now, but it was very sore at the time.
I found primal meat loaf at the store where I buy the Blue.  I bought a sample pack of beef, chicken  and I think Venson.   Roadie cleans his bowl.  I mix it with the  kibble  in the morning.  The question is how many patties to I give him    with the kibble.    I feed him   in the evening also as I mentioned in a prior e-mail.  I also am going to order the enzemes to go alone with it.  I notice  in Katy's blog that she was feeding Primal also to Sadie.  This was the blog of Zeke& Sadie Show.

I can't get over how smart Roadie is and has become.  He knows the word water, out,  He barks when he wants to play with his squeeky toy, I through it to him in the livingroom and runs and gets it and brings it back to me.  I do this when it is raining and I don't walk him .  I don't walk him too much in the neighborhood afraid I might come upon a loose pitbull or another dog (smile)

I got on the scale this mornint,   I am 155 and holding Roadie, it jumped to 174, so he is somewhere around l9 or 2 0 lbs give an take a little.

Have a quiet and peaceful New Year with good things for you and your family and Lhasa's in the new year.

Warmly,

Alma & Roadie

Happy New Year!!!.  I sent you a e-mail card, but it came back to me like you were sending it to  me.  Don't know what I did wrong???   I spent my New Years night sleep with  a little Amaratta and Eggnog.  I woke up at l:00 a.m. (smile).  from your blog it read like you had a nice new Year also.

Roadie said hello.  He is doing fine.  I have him now on Nature's Variety and kibble.  He loves the raw food.  I think after I use up all the kibble, I will go all natural with him.  He seems to be adjusting okay with the raw.   I     mix it with the kibble without adding any water.  He  doesn' t like the kibble  too moist.  His hair is getting show long, very pretty.  When he looks at you, it looks like he is looking right through  to your soul. It is bitter cold here today.

Hello Debby,

Just a little note to let you know about Roadie.   I took him to the Vet today first trip since I have had him.   He weighs 23 lbs, which  vet said was good.  He had an infected left ear, which I thought was ear mites.  He gave me drops to put in his ear and go back in two weeks,  He was very taken back by him.  He also expressed his anal glands and wanted to show me how to do it,  I wasn't interested (smile).   I will take him back for that   30.00 dollars is the charge.  He told me to put oil in the food for the dry skin, olive oil etc. which I  had been doing.  He is doing great on the raw diet.  He thinks he has to have some of whatever he sees me eating.   He is beginning to tear up his toys to get the filling inside.  He actually chews them and pulls them apart.    I think I will give him a raw bone since he has this chewing habit.  I would usually give him a  bone if I was going away for awhile to keep him occupied.  I give him 3 pr 4 nuggets in the morning and the same at night which is 8 according to the schedule on the bag for his weight.  the vet said Nature's Variety is good.

Still checking your webpage to see  what is going on.  I think the dog show will be on Animal Planet  sometime in February. Maybe you want to check it out.  I don't walk him as much as I should.  Will try to do better as the weather changes,  He goes up and down the steps a lot with me, but that is not like walking.  I take him to the park for the walks.  Doesn't like to go out in the yard when it is raining or bad weather.

Take care, this is all for now.

Warmly,
.
