Hello Debby,

Before I forget, you have to see the photos of GiGi's boys; they are lovely!  Arsha and Vajra have the same eyes and facial expression.  Nampa and Dom look nothing alike; Dom is lovely and poor Nampa is just a bit odd looking.  Good thing he is loved for more than his looks!

Took the boys to the vet today to get their International Health Cert. (we're heading up to Canada again on Saturday), and I had a talk with the vet about removing Arsha's undescended testicle.  At first he was all "you shouldn't breed dogs with only one descended testicle" so I had to tell him the whole story about the Gompa dogs.  He's Indian and I think he found it all quite interesting.  Anyway, he'll do the surgery when we get back home.  One thing he said I thought I'd pass on to you.  You probably have heard this before, but he says that if the undescended testicle is under the skin instead of in the body, the risk of cancer is greatly reduced.  He wouldn't have recommended surgery in Arsha's case, but I told him of your vet's hope that sperm count would be increased so he agreed to do it.

This vet is new.  We went to see him when Nampa was haviong problems with his back.  He was extremely helpful and seems to be a much better diagnostician.  I did tell you that Nampa has degenerative disc disease, didn't I?  Anyway, life is alot better when you've got a good vet!  Too bad Nampa HATES him; he associates him with that terrible pain.

Take care!!!
Natalia
