Lhasa in Japan, Joyce has sents the Lhasa to Japan once or two times very long time ago that I had.

I don't know any other bleeder ship the lhasa to Japan.

Most Japanese people wants to healthy lhasa as a pets.

But, It is very hard to get the healthy standard Lhasa Apso from USA.

Because bleeder require to spay the puppy if it is not for shown.

Lhasa is very miner bleed in Japan. So, They have not so much chance to show the Lhasa. But still love their character like me.

They needs to bleed the lhasa in Japan. other wise too hard to ship the Lhasa to Japan so many times.

Bleeder have to keep the puppy at least 9 thru 12 month in USA because of the regulation of the Quarantine inspection.

Nobody wants to do the task. That is why Lhasa has not been exported to Japan for 10 years or so...

I don't know what I can do for them.

But, I need to shown my Lhasa other wise I can not have the puppy for Japan.

Please think about that who loves the Lhasa but never have chance to get any more.

so sad...........

That is why I decided to have Koyuki and a puppy from Cindy.

Chacha is only one for us as a baby. Maybe I made a big mistake how to raise the dog.

Now I need to lean and I wish if I could make some body happy who loves Lhasa . Also my Chacha might be wish so...

But, She was very healthy dog Never have any problem for 10 years.

I was forget about that she was already 10 years old.

She needs special attention. But I didn't.... I will keep working on for what I believed, what I should do.

Good Morning Debby.

It is snowing here today.

Koyuki always sitting in front of the door to ask me to go out.

She has a lot of energy to play!

The only vegetable she shouldn't have is onion. Everything else is fine. I use fruits and vegetables for treats. I also mix them into the dog food, either cooked in a soup or cut up without cooking. The dogs, especially the puppies, really enjoy whole carrots. They carry them around like bones and munch on them. Is she eating enough INNOVA? If not, you can mix a little bit of meat or some other tasty goodie in with her food. I always supplement my dogs' food. Right now, some left over beef gravy is heating on the stove. I'll mix that in with the kibble and that will be breakfast this morning. I also feed Oma's Pride Meatloafs, but my order isn't here yet. Those meatloafs consist of ground raw meat and vegetables. I mix that with the kibble. It is very tasty and good for the dogs.

I feed her l 1/4 of INNOVA. But, Koyuki can not fish. She is about 10 pound now.

She can finish about one cup.

But, her pupu is good !

I will try to mix some beef or chicken gravy If Koyuki's appetite gets less than now.

I feel scare that once I gave her good taste food, She is not going to eat regular dry dog food like Chacha was so.

Excellent to mix conditioner and water for daily brushing!! I spray the mixture onto the coat, especially the ends of the hair and brush with the Mason Pearson.

Julie teach me to do so. I am still waiting for the combs and grooming table I ordered last week.

ChaCha died because her kidneys didn't work any longer, right? If I've misunderstood, please tell me. I am also a veterinary technician, although I no longer work in that field. I guess what I want you to know is that even if you'd had the blood work done and had been aware of ChaCha's poor kidney health, western medicine offers little - if anything - for such a condition. By the time a dog shows signs of kidney failure, there is usually very little left of the kidney function - less than 25%. I know I can't take away your guilt or pain about losing ChaCha... I hope, in some way, my words and advice help a little bit. It is obvious to me, you loved her very much.

I need to do her blood test 1-2 month ago. Then I might know what is going on her kidney and change her diet could save her life?

I feed her something she likes too much like white rice and meat.

Too much protein is bad for Lhasa who has kidney problems specially her age.

Also, separation, anxious are makes it bad.

She stayed home alone since she was 2-3 month old because we both working.

She never do pee and pupu in the room. Always out side. Only 2 to 3times a day.

That is why?? She doesn't drink so much water since she was young.

Her small water bawl was never get empty.

There is so many reason I could not protect her.

My ignorance, My stress..I regret so many things everyday everyday...

But, Chacha is never come back .

Thank you very much for the Lhasa's calendar!
It is very cute. I am hanging in my office.

I came back from MI. The retune plain was canceled. I stayed Lansing
air port for almost 9 hours.
It tooks me 22 hours travel to door to door.
The black puppy (Sakura) is Koyuki getting along with very good.
Because Sakura is very gentle. They have different personalty.
Different face even the same Lhasa Apso.
They play in the back yard for a while and walk with us 15- 20 min
Now They are sleeping together.
I was wondering that they might fight.
But, they doing perfect together!

Just one thing I worry about that she has hernia.
I didn't know...
Any way I have to make a appointment for my vet too. she needs to
take the second vaccination.

Koyuki and Sakura has very deferent personality. maybe that is why they along each other very very good.

They love to play, fight and run more than eat. Always together.

Other wise we did not want to a puppy...

Koyuki's both of eyes show up the cherry eye now.

We can give her surgery for both eyes for same time.

Poor Koyuki.

She doesn't like the eye drop.

She try to bite and very bad! I can not do that any more...

I will ask the vet I can stop to give her eye drop until Wed.

I just give massage for her eyes 2-3 times a day. It is acceptable for her.

Can I stop by your work place??

I want to you to see Sakura. Also, I will bring the copy of her pedigree.

She is very beautifuldog. but, her tail is down to right side. It is not straight up.

Still no problem to shown her.

Toshimi, as one of Koyuki's breeder, thank you for sharing this. I am so sorry she developed that cherry eye! It certainly won't affect her quality of life, but it's unfortunate it happened!! No matter what, no matter when, we would always take Koyuki back. We feel responsible for each FFT puppy born. We feel responsible for that dog for its entire lifetime. You've told me the puppies gave you back your life. I could also see this for myself. They are helping you so much in grieving for Chacha. Maybe I'm mistaken, but being able to live your life again, being able to love another Apso, was the main reason you got the puppies. The rest, showing them, breeding them, possibly sending good, healthy Lhasa Apsos to Japan was secondary. Does your friend understand that?

Yes, they understood. The Lhasa breeder in Japan try to contact with lhasa breeder in Australia I think...

I think much easier to export the puppy to Japan compared with the puppy from USA

My friends know that my puppy has hernia and cherry eye.

I don't think they needs puppy from me any more.

Koyuki's eyes getting better and her energy never run out.

She is like a boy. always looking for something to play with. Running around in the house. Also, she burke too much.

I have to think about that how to stop her burke.

Sakura never burke. She is very quiet and calm like a old dog.... Very funny to see both dogs are so much different personality.

We have a vacation for a month of May.

Is there any dog show for Lhasa we can go bet May 8th thru May 24th? Also April 23rd thru 26th.

We just came back

The doctor said looks good!

But we have to go to see him next Thu 8:00am again....

It is going to be last check up. Same time Sakura gets screening her eyes just in case.

Regarding for the dog show I can check by AKC web site.

We can see every show where and when.

I can not decided about show her.

It was so much stress to the owners and the little puppies about the surgery and after surgery.

I am still worry about that Koyuki's cherry eye might pop up again for her future.

I don't want to give same stress and worry to any other Lhasa Lovers.

I want to ask your vet to take care of my puppies.

But, It is better to ask to do my vet. If I decided to spay them.

We need to keep good relation ship with our vet. Because They are only 5 min away from my home.

Also most of the worker in the vet, They are our customer too.

They must be good take care of my puppies If I trust them.

If I don't ask them to take care of my puppies, They will think That I don't trust them.

Koyuki's adult teeth should no be removed. Julie told me that her teeth is the trademark of her line. I will explain to my Vet.

Please make sure when you see Koyuki.

But, Sakura's case lower canine (fang) is poking into the upper gums.

If I don't remove her baby teeth. The adult teeth keep growing wrong way and poking into the upper gum. One baby teeth is almost loosing. But, the other one is very tight.

I will take her to my vet on Monday to pull the baby teeth.

Our fright is 2:45 pm

So, we wiil leave my house about 10:00 am.

I can drop the puppies to you around 11:00-11:30 Maybe...

You enjoyed a camping! That is so nice!!

Koyuki's eye never popped up since that day.

But, Eye doctor said that we need to take her to the eye doctor for check up.

Because, once show up the cherry eye again, it is tend to show up again.

I don't know why show up her cherry eye only the day for a couple of hours.

Very Very strange.... Hope fully never show up again...

I and Tet are almost cry when we see her cherry eye that day...

We are going to spay her as soon as her heat over.

Since last week, her heat is very heavy. She is bleeding so much every where.On my bed, carpet , sofa....

We use Bark 2 Basics products at the grooming shop. The shampoo was Melon-Cucumber. The conditioner was D-Mat All Coat Conditioner with Anti-stat. I didn't use any other products on them. What kind of dryer do you use to dry their hair? I will be happy to teach you how to make them look beautiful! Maybe you could meet me at my grooming some Thursday morning in the next month or so?

Why do you think Sakura is not American standard? What traits do you see that make you think she's more like a Tibetan Apso? I have some comments to make, but first want to make sure I understand what you're seeing.

Cindy mentioned long time ago regarding for her Apso.

The original tibet Apso is small like her breed. I saw some photo of Tibetan apso. Looks smaller than American Apso.

I think that the neck of the American Apso is too long.

Also, the Apso's coat must be very dense like Sakura, otherwise can not be survived in the cold weather in Himalaya.

1894 The coat of Apso's standard is looks hard but, if touched it is soft. ( I read somebody's web site)

Sakura's coat flip water, So, If she walk in the snow does not gets snow ball. doesn't gets tangle.

Good for live up here in the mountain.

A couple of questions I have regarding you showing....do you have enough time? And, would it be too emotional for you? You and your dog/s will need ring training, which is very time consuming. It may look like exhibitors simply walk their dog into the ring and have them judged. It's not that simple. If you don't have the training to be 'competitive', the experience will disappoint you. It is next to impossible to gain a Championship title going to shows in the months you're off work. So, the time involved is one thing to think about. I know how much you love your dogs and wonder how sad you'd feel if your dog placed last. Vickie mentioned she wasn't prepared for the feelings she experienced at 'having her dog judged'.

I thought it is so much fun to showing dog, work with dog.

But, the problem is the both of my puppies has genetic problem. (Cherry eyes, hernia and cataract.)

I can not breed them, I don't want to breed them even the people realized that my puppies are very beautiful.

I know there is nothing mean to show them.

But, still I want to try ... Because that is the reason why I am still living with Lhasa Apso after my Chacha passed away.

Agility is also time consuming, but I agree that Koyuki would like it. Her uncle is an agility dog! Sometimes, when I am disillusioned about showing dogs, I go watch agility. The dogs love it. Their owners love it. Every one is having fun! There's none of the 'ugliness' Cindy mentioned previously.

Her skin looks very dry and peeling off like a scale. Specially around her belly.

Also, the right side of her ear, I can always see black year wax since few days ago. and inside of her ear is little red.

I am wiping away every day. But, her ear's smell is not bad.

Next Monday I will ask my vet to check the problem too.

Our ca was fixed and came back today.

Same time Koyuki's cherry eye poped up again.

Only the right side eye. I massaged her eye but, does not work.

I have an appointment with vet on Monday for spay and baby teeth out.

Her heat is over so...

But, right after she might needs another one for the cherry eye.

I hope not.

But, depending on her eye.

Maybe cause for high altitude?

Maybe cause for allergy season?

Our car had broken as soon as Koyuki's cherry eye popped up and backed off.

Then It is show up again as soon as our car came back.

A lots of my lhasa friends have the blog for up dated their dog's photo and daily news too.

I want to have one too. You can see my puppies any time if I have one

Two of my Lhasa friends told me that they had same experienced about cherry eye. keep popped up and disappeared for 2-3 times.

One Lhasa had second surgery, the other lhasa's cherry eye was eventually disappeared. He did not have any surgery.

I also check other web site who has cherry eye popped up and disappeared It is very common for other breeds too. Some dogs popped up her cherry eye after came back from grooming. Some other's are after surgery for spay.)

I hope no more surgery for Koyuki.

Dr. Hammond office said that it is unusual in their experience.

Also, I left him a message about Koyuki's coat does not grow well because of the medication he gave it to Koyiki or for Anesthesia??

Her coat keep shedding a lots while grooming.

Maybe she has molds, ticks or something in the right side of her ear has black spots and getting red.

Koyuki came back from vet for spay and removed her baby teeth.

Her ear problem was caused of yeast.

Looks every thing is ok now. Please do not worry. They are just sleeping now with me.

Very unfortunately we spayed her, now Koyuki's owner are Tetsuo and me only.

He doesn't have any answer for this happen.
But, Koyuki is ok now. As long as does not popped up, it is good for me.

I spoke with Dr. Graham. Koyuki'e case is not common in his experienced.

He just advice me that I better to use the harness except the collar.

Please let me know If you find out something more about this.

After spay they are very fine now! Her ear getting clean.

Koyuki has more appetite before the surgery . I have to watch her weight.

I just want to help them to show my appreciation. They made me happy
but, I could not give them happy.
Also, it is very fun if we could raise the puppies for Japan for 6~8
month. It is good for Koyuki and Sakura too.
They have more company. Also, I can live with deferent Apso every 6~8
month. 2 lhasa are not enough to make me busy to forget to cry for my
Chacha.

Just one problem is .... It is very hard to find the healthy Lhasa
Apso....

I am very appreciated If you have any advice about Gompa Lhasa.

She likes to play in river and lake like my Chacha does.
She does not scare anything.
Now she can do anything she want to!
Because she can not be a show dog any more.
Her face coat never grow. Puppy face forever....

Mountain Dogs

I have received Koyuki's registration form from Julie.
Thank you!

I tried to left two of my apsos at pet day care yesterday for 2 hours.
They were very good to along with other 5~6 of huge dogs.
If they likes to stay at the kennel, We can go back to Japan for 2
weeks without worry.
We will try to leave them same place couple of times.
It is good to socialized with other dogs for them too.

About Sep 10th, We will try to be there before 3 pm.
what can I bring ? Maybe some wine??

Koyuki became to my family on January 19th
She was very cute! and she is getting beautiful!






Thank you Debby. I want to see Koyuki's aunt too! Here is the photo at Baldy mountain not Himalaya. But, the Summit Elevation is 13,684 feet My apsos enjoyed the mountain.


January 2008 Don't you think that Koyuki look like her sister Edie? She is so sweet!
