Dr. Catherine Marley
Lhasa Apso Anatomy Presentation
September 8, 2007

Nearly everything we do seems to start with wine and cheese!

Vickie's in the background opening wine. Mary Schroeder is seated at the table.
Mary and Debby were partners of Fleetfire Lhasa Apsos until Mary began working towards her judge's license.
Mary is currently approved to judge Lhasa Apsos, French Bulldogs, Chow Chows, Poodles (Standard, Miniature and Toy).
She is a provisional judge for Bichon Frises, Bulldogs, Tibetan Spaniels, Tibetan Terriers and Junior Showmanship.

Ginny Johnson.

Running into technical difficulties - interpret that to mean the circuit board in Dr. Marley's laptop died and Debby didn't bring a backup laptop - the hotel graciously allowed us to bring the computer from the lobby into the room.  Note, however, the projector is working perfectly!

From the far back, Linda Jarrett, Melissa Torgerson, Valorie Lockburner.
Mary is in the lower right hand corner.

Susan Vaughn is holding a computer connection as Dr. Marley is attempting to get things up and running.

After discovering the hotel's lobby computer had some kind of security set up on it, Dr. Marley resorted to good, old-fashioned speaking, making use of a real, live dog, the AKC Lhasa Apso standard and her intriguing coyote and Lhasa Apso skulls..

Vickie, Cathy and Mary.
Somewhere in this room, but not in the photos, were
Shirley Clark, Bud Brockway, Debby Rothman and Christi Vahling.

Edmund joined us as the 'real, live dog'. He was so good!
What you see here, is how he was the entire evening unless asked
to stand and demonstrate a particular breed  feature.

The skulls were absolutely fascinating. We were able to touch them and examine them. It was interesting that the brain case is basically the same size in each skull, as was the point of entry into the brain of the spinal column and the diameter of the nasal passages.

The evening later turned into a roundtable discussion. The consensus was the presentation was great, ''as it was meant to be'.
However, after seeing the slides here's what Debby  wrote to Dr. Marley the following week:

"Yesterday Susan, Vickie and I looked at the slides. There are some incredible photos! We speculated on your message with some of the slides. We would love to have you back! Even though everyone thought the evening turned out great, with the roundtable format, I can understand - especially after seeing the slides - your disappointment in the equipment failure."

We'll simply have to have her back again!
