My Friend Is Someone I Can Count On
Jeff Leedy

"A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked."
Bernard Meltzer

 Main Entry: afi·cio·na·do
 Variant(s): also af·fi·cio·na·do /-'nä-(")dO/
 Function: noun
 Inflected Form(s): plural -dos
Etymology: Spanish, from past participle of aficionar to inspire affection, from afición affection, from Latin affection-, affectio

: a person who likes, knows about, and appreciates a usually fervently pursued interest or activity : DEVOTEE

Aficionados. I would have never come up with that word. I needed an appropriate title for this place in the website. A word that would encompass all the wonderful people we've come to know because of our Apsos. A word that would include, not exclude. A word that celebrated, no matter each person's interest, no matter the relationship. Friend. Breeder. Co-breeder. Exhibitor. Co-owner. Fancier. Pet owner. Aficionados!  I would have never come up with that. A fellow aficionado did!

The What's New blog has provided a great format for getting to know others. It's interactive. It's fun. It's educational. People can comment and share. People can learn more about each other; search on Apso Aficionados. People are loving the blog.

But I wanted an additional place. A place with a different feel. A place to keep memories of past times shared. A place for lots of photos of my friends. A place for photos of events shared with others. A place for you to put a face on those you haven't yet met. A place that continues to expand, encompass. A place that portrays each individual. A place to celebrate Aficionados!

Life is a theatre...
Invite Your Audience Carefully

Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives.
There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a distance.
It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you let go, or at least minimize, your time
with draining, negative, incompatible, not-going-anywhere relationships or friendships.

Observe the relationships around you.
Pay attention.

Which ones lift and which ones lean?
Which ones encourage and which ones discourage?
Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill?
When you leave certain people, do you feel better or feel worse?
Which ones always have drama, or don't really understand, know or appreciate you?

The more you seek quality, respect, growth, peace of mind,
love and truth around you... the easier it will become
for you to decide who gets to sit in the front row
and who should be moved to the balcony of your life.

You cannot change the people around you.
But you CAN change the people you choose to be around
!

Who is in your Front Row?

To start us out...

Debby and Ginny in our sweet suite at ALAC's October 2006 National Specialty in Portland, Oregon. Don't know which day it was, but C'est La Vie had already won the Regional Specialty because there's her ribbon on the wall. We had to take a photo when we realized we were wearing 'the same thing'!

Vickie, Ginny and Debby on Debby's deck. Right now, I don't recall the occasion...it could be one of many. We had fun. This I know!
